Turn long text into a thread for X
Paste an article, notes or a long post. Tweet Engine splits it into numbered posts that fit X's weighted 280 count, breaking only between paragraphs and sentences. Then edit, merge, split and copy each one.
Your text stays in this browser. It's saved locally so a reload doesn't lose it; Clear removes it.
You've edited posts here. Changing the text on the left, the numbering or the reserve will split again and replace those edits.
Paste some text on the left and the thread appears here, one card per post.
How the splitter decides
Paragraphs first
Whole paragraphs go into a post while they fit. A paragraph that would only half fit starts the next post instead, so ideas aren't chopped across a break.
Then sentences
A paragraph longer than one post is split between sentences. Common abbreviations like "e.g." and "Dr." aren't treated as sentence ends.
Words only as a last resort
A single sentence longer than a post is broken at a space, never inside a word. Links count as 23 and emoji as 2, the way X counts them.
Room for numbers
The numbering label's length is reserved on every post, so "12/12" never pushes a post over 280.

Questions
How does Tweet Engine decide where to split?
It fills each post with whole paragraphs while they fit, then whole sentences, and only breaks a sentence at a space when that one sentence is longer than a post. It never cuts a word in half. The count uses X's weighted rules, so links cost 23 and emoji cost 2, and the space reserved for numbering is taken off every post's limit.
What does "reserve characters" do?
It keeps room at the end of each post for the numbering, such as " 3/12". With automatic reserve on, the engine works out how much the longest label needs. You can set a fixed number instead if you plan to add your own sign-off or emoji.
Is my text saved anywhere?
Only in your own browser. The draft and settings are kept in local storage on your device so a reload doesn't lose them. Nothing is uploaded, and the Clear button removes the saved copy.
Can it post the thread for me?
No. Tweet Engine doesn't connect to X. You copy each post into the X composer, using the + button there to add the next post in the thread, or use Copy all to paste the whole set into a notes app first.
Is Tweet Engine an official X tool?
No. Tweet Engine is independent and isn't affiliated with X Corp. It works only with the text you paste.
